Medical and Dental Appointments
Article 30.06 (C)
Full-time employees may request 3½ hours per calendar month for medical or dental appointments. This time shall not be deducted from an employee’s sick leave credits, nor shall any pay be deducted.
Continuing part-time employees shall receive entitlement to this benefit on a pro rata basis, according to the number of hours worked in the previous month.
Should an employee require more than 3½ hours in a calendar month, the university will average an employee’s usage over the year, up to the maximum potential usage of 42 hours. If the employee requests leave for medical or dental appointments exceeding 42 hours, then payment is deducted from the employee’s sick leave bank. If the bank has run out, then the employee may request time off without pay.
According to Article 3.02 (C), continuing part-time employees shall receive entitlement to this benefit on a pro rata basis, according to the number of hours worked in the previous month.
Excessive use of medical or dental appointments may require medical or dental certificates.
